Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary : A Heaven for avian life. located on the northern bank of the Periyar River in kerala, Thattekkad was the first bird sanctuary in the state, spread across approximately 25 square kilometers, it was famously described by Dr. Salim Ali, the birdman of india, as the richest bird habitat in peninsular india.
