Cancellation and Refund Policy
Welcome to Jacob Birding tours. This cancellation and refund policy explains the terms that apply to bookings made by international clients. By confirming a booking with us, you agree to the terms set out below.
Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only after we receive the required deposit or full payment, as applicable, and issue written confirmation.
Cancellation by the Client
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. Cancelation charges will apply based on the date we receive your notice.
- 60 days more before the tour start date: Full refund of amounts paid, minus any non-refundable bank or payment processing charges
- 30 to 59 days before the tour start date: 50% refund of the total tour cost
- 15 to 29 days before the tour start date: 25% refund of the total tour cost
- Less than 15 days before the tour start date: No refund
Non-Refundable Items
- Bank transfer fees
- Credit card processing fees
- Currency conversion charges
- Visa fees
- Travel insurance premiums
- Any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf, transport, permits, or guide services
Refunds for International Clients
Refunds, where applicable, will be made to the original payment method used for the booking. For international clients, please note:
- Refunds may take additional banking procedures
- Any fees charged by banks, payment gateways, or card providers will be deducted from the refund amount
- We are not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions or currency exchange differences
Changes to Booking
If you wish to change your travel dates or services, we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability. Any additional costs arising from changes will be payable by the client.
Cancellation by Jacob Birding Tours
In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer one of the following options:
- A full refund of amounts paid for the cancelled services, or
- An alternative tour arrangement of comparable value, subject to availability
We are not responsible for additional expenses such as international flights, visas, insurance, or other travel arrangements made independently by the client.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for cancellations, delays, or changes caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but limited to natural disasters, severe weather, political unrest, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, or other majeure events. In such cases, refunds or rescheduling options may be offered at our discretion, depending on the circumstances and any third-party costs already incurred.
No-Shows and Early Departures
No refunds will be provided for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures once the tour has commenced.
Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds will normally be processed within 14 to 30 business days after confirmation of eligibility. Processing times may vary depending on the payment method and the client’s country or residence.
